A quiet day

It's a nice sunny autumnal day here in Milton Keynes; Amazon have just delivered a book on Oracle 10g Data Warehouse tuning – so I think I 'll sit in the garden and read. The main reason for not working today was a visit from some structural engineers who are trying to find out why one corner of my house is falling off – but they arrived early and had finished their boreholes for soil samples before 10 am so the rest of the day is mine!

Yesterday I had to visit a customer on the South Coast (just a few minutes drive from Mark Rittman's office!) just 2 hours 15 minutes there but 3 hours 45 back – such are the joys of driving around London on a wet evening! I have a feeling that I'll be making this journey a few more times before Christmas.
