Summer food

One of the nice things about this time of the year is eating fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the garden. The courgettes (zucchini) have kicked in as have the cucumbers and tomatoes – we are now in our inventive phase – courgette soup, roast vegetables, anything to use it all up!

Fruit smoothies are popular with the kids – hope they don't notice that on top of the strawberries, loganberries and blackcurrants we are adding the dreaded gooseberries
