Although I have not really been away much recently, work has somewhat prevented me mistyping things into this blog as frequently as I would have liked. Over recent weeks I have spent much of my work time on staff reviews and dealing with an incident for a customer.
I did get out the BIRT SIG meeting in London on Tuesday and caught my first glimpse of the release of new release of BI suite, and how BI Publisher and Discoverer co-work it. It was also nice to see how the former Sunopis E LT product fits in to the BI scene. A good day out, and nice to wear the blue jacket again.
Of course the news of the new release was mentioned once or twice; and as one of those keen souls who have already been showing the Siebel badged version to potential customers I could not wait to download it put it through its paces. BI Suite is now sitting on my laptop and running (as before) in a OC4J container – this is ideal for demonstrating. The download and install where quite smooth – the only worry in the install was the amount of time it spent on “100% installed” before moving to the next windows.
And finally, good luck to Mark Rittman in his new endeavour. Mark is a great bloke, highly talented and very respected, I’m sure he will do well.
…the lilac jacket was at the dry cleaners right?
I think, that is interesting for all.

Cheers Pete, thanks for the kind words.
I think we’ll be meeting up shortly anyway, I’m going to be presenting at the Scottish BI event as well. Are you planning to go up the night before?
cheers
Mark
