Things that annoy

BlogDesk spell checking annoys me greatly. I know I should really buy a new keyboard, one where all keys are equally responsive and missed characters do not happen, and I must become better at touch typing, oh, and proof reading. But when the spell checker decides to automatically substitute my last error for a correction of its own choice and I do not notice until after it is published then I become somewhat annoyed. So following a testimonial of sorts on Tom Kyte’s Blog and reading that WordPress is supported I’d give Windows LiveWriter a try.

So far some good things are to be seen but one thing lacking is the ability to compose an extract – WordPress allows the creative (or misguided) to write their own extract for the RSS feed, I have grown to like this feature in the short time that I have been here, I can warn in the feed when I am talking sense as opposed to the usual rubbish.

  1. Sure you can write an extract, it’s called Excerpt, just like in WordPress.

  2. [...] The ideal compromise would be a 2 line precis of the article but Peter Scott is the only blogger in the universe who is thoughtful enough to do this. [...]
